First Annual Children’s Concert and “Day at the Park”
Saturday, July 24th - 1PM

Join us on Saturday, July 24th For our first annual Children’s Concert and “Day at the Park” Featuring The Tow Jam Puppet Band. Activities start at 1PM and the band plays from 2-3PM.

Activities include:
-Northeastern University Marine Science Center’s Traveling Aquarium
-Balloon Animals by Drew’s Balloons
-Face Painting
-Reps from Nahant SWIM, Lynn Police, Lynn Fire, & The Daily Item of Lynn

Admission is FREE. Bring your own chairs and blankets. Light refreshments will be available for purchase.

LynnArts Inc., Building Community through the Arts
Studio Spaces Available
April 2009

LynnArts rents inexpensive artist studio space in two separate locations; in our arts center at 25 Exchange St. and in the JB Blood Building at 24 Wheeler St. in Lynn.

Both buildings are within walking distance of the commuter rail line

All studios have 24 hour access

Spaces at the Blood building have natural light, permitted parking, a freight elevator and loading dock studios

At LynnArts are wheelchair accessible, have access to a standard elevator and parking

Studios range in size from 100 to 650 sq. feet (depending on availability)

All utilities are currently included

All studios may be shared, though LynnArts requires only one name on a lease as well as a three month lease minimum (spaces over 500 sq. ft require a one year lease)

RAW Arts

RAW groups are FREE of charge and offer youth a chance to express and explore themselves under the guidance of our Master's level Creative Art Therapists and professional artists. GOALS OF RAW ART WORKS:

1. Identity To help youth develop a stronger sense of identity, including as an artist.

It\'s spring time and that means planting. And meeting your neighbors! Please join us as we plant over 3,000 flowering plants on the island of Goldfish Pond. It\'s a lot of fun.

Children's Planting Day!
Parents of small children! Bring your little gardner to a special garden *just for children* on the slopes of Goldfish Pond park... Plant the flowers provided by the Goldfish Pond Association. Receive a special certificate of your little one\'s efforts. Enjoy snacks and juice. Return to see the progress of \"your flower\" as the summer blossoms. Hope to see you there!

“The object of this organization is to promote and encourage the propagation of fish and game; to promote interest in hunting, shooting activities, fishing, casting, boating, and to participate in and enjoy all legal forms of outdoor recreation.  To aide in the protection of fish, game and birds, to promote and provide social and athletic recreation for its members; to promote and encourage better understanding among the members and general public as to the proper use of boats, hunting and fishing equipment; to promote, encourage and educate its members and general public in the principles of safety in the use of firearms; to promote and encourage a better understanding between land owners and sportsman; to give and promote entertainment, lectures, and social affairs, celebrations, exhibitions, games and amusements of any and all description for the general enjoyment and instruction of its members; to establish and own rifle ranges and the necessary equipment for them; to instruct juveniles in the use of firearms and other sporting equipment, to purchase, acquire, lease and to maintain and operate buildings, club houses or other structures incidental to the foregoing purposes; to cooperate with public authorities in the conservation of natural resources of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and other states and to disseminate information and literature relative to the same”.  (By-Laws, Article II, Object)

LynnParks and Recreation will be sponsoring a 5-Week Tennis Clinic
The clinic will consist of the following forehand, backhand, serve, positioning, scoring etc.

The 2009 season will represent the Navigators 2nd season on the North Shore at Fraser Field in Lynn. See Navs 2009 Schedule at www.nsnavs.com

Navigators 2009

The Navigators (www.nsnavs.com) are a member of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL www.necbl.com ) a Pro-Prospect Development League.  With at least one team in each New England State, the 12 team Wood Bat summer Collegiate Baseball League showcases the Nation's Premier Collegiate Pro-Prospects from around the country. The Navigators play 21 home games from June through the end of July. 

TV Broadcasts of Navs Home Games

Navigators 2009 All North Shore Navigators Home Games played at Fraser Field in Lynn are broadcast to over 100,000 homes in the North Shore.  The 4 camera shoot is produced by LynnCAM, Lynn's Public Access TV studio.

LynnCAM Producer Ken Kinna, who has spent the last 7 years building the Studio into a current events and Public Affairs network for Lynn, Salem and other North Shore communities will be entering their second year of broadcasting the Navs games. This is  terrific experience or our Staff including game Director Pedro Diaz and On-Air personality Kasie Clark, Play by Play announcer for the 2009 season will be Jeremy Kriesberg.  This is Jeremy's first season with the Navs.  Jeremy curently announces University of Michigan Baseball and Basketball games.

Manning Field 2010 Schedule Update
Beginning Monday, March 15 through Monday July 5, the Manning Track will be open from 7:30AM - 2:30PM on weekdays only.

From July 6 through Sunday August 29 it is anticipated that the track will also be available most evenings and weekends similar to the Summer of 2009.  The 2010 Summer Schedule will be published by Monday, June 28.

The Fall Schedule will begin on Monday, August 30 through Tuesday, November 30 from 7:30AM - 2:30PM on weekdays only.
The track will not be open on the following 2010 Municipal holidays:
Friday, April 2, 2010  Monday, July 5, 2010  Thursday, November 11, 2010 
Monday, April 19, 2010  Monday, September 6, 2010    Thursday, November 25, 2010 
Monday, May 31, 2010  Monday, October 11 , 2010  Friday, November 26, 2010  
In the event  of heavy rain and/or thunder/lightning the track will be closed for public safety.
